He was to lead the students in morning prayer. But MacLeish refused on the grounds that his religious skepticism made him unfit for the assignment.
A few hours later, he changed his mind and accepted the invitation. ìIíll do it,î he said, ìbut one thing must be clear. Iím not at all convinced that Christianity has all the answers weíre looking for. But I do think it has the right questions.î
