As each new year rolls around the realization comes into play that there is one thing we all have in common: each and every one of us is getting older. And all through the year there is no shortage of reminders for all of us of that reality.
Many of us know we are getting older when we try to straighten out our socks but we can’t reach them.
We know we are getting older when we stop patting ourselves on the back and start patting ourselves under the chin.
We know we are getting older when our knee joints are more accurate than the weather service.
We know we are getting older when our backs go out more than we do.
We know we are getting older when we feel like the “morning after” when we haven’t been out the night before.
We know we are getting older when we wake up looking like our driver’s license picture.
