Raise The Banner High!

Lord, how often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me?

Recently, a new book appeared called “Public Apology,” which features scores of “mea culpas” written to friends, family members, strangers and even celebrities. On the cover of the book is an image of a small plane towing one of those familiar advertising banners. This one is bearing the book’s title: “Public Apology,” and has no doubt inspired many a husband to at least think about the medium to help get him out of the dog house! Sorry, I don’t mean to pick on just the guys, so I must add — wives, this applies to you too because it applies to us all!

Shortly after the release of “Public Apology,” a friend told the author he saw a similar title in a book review. This other book was named, “Sorry About That: The Language of Public Apology.” And, lo and behold, it too had an illustration on the cover depicting a small plane towing an advertising banner — this one reading, “Sorry About That.” Thinking…
