Good morning, and welcome on this blessed Christmas day! May God be with us!
This morning, in my mind’s eye, I picture the beautiful gatherings at homes everywhere — filled with the fragrant scent of pine, glistening with ornaments and twinkling bright lights. Moms and dads still in their pajamas, as children so excited and awake since dawn, rip through the colorful paper revealing their Christmas treasures. For some, this may describe this very Christmas morning. For others it may evoke a memory from Christmases past. But for all, I hope our wonderful, communal celebration this morning is indeed, a memorable one.
We’re all familiar with this scene. You invite friends to dinner who you haven’t seen in ages. Or maybe it’s a rare family gathering, or a reunion with old classmates. And then comes the end of the afternoon or…
