Husband and Wife

An elderly man, lying on his deathbed turned to his wife and said, “You know Gladys, you have always been with me—through the good times and bad alike. Do you remember the time I lost my job? There you were, right by my side. And how about the time I had that terrible accident? You were right there to call the ambulance when I fell off the roof. And during the dark years of the depression when we had nothing, you were there.

And now, here I am lying at death’s door, and you are right by my side, as always. You know what Gladys? I just realized, you’re bad luck!
