“Now, son, there is a wonderful example for you in the life of the ant,” said the earnest father. “Every day the ant goes to work and labors hard all day long. He never wastes time. He has a goal. He never wavers. That’s why he’s successful.”

“Yes, sir,” said the boy.

“Now with the ant’s example before you, what happens to him in the end?” the father asked.

“Someone steps on him?” ventured the boy.
