“Why does this man speak that way?” (Mark 2:7).
At a PTA meeting, a statistician was introduced to explain changes in the grading of exams. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,” he began. “The main point to grasp is that not all exams are marked out of 100. In one, the passing mark may be 298 out of 800, in another 170 out of 350. To make it easier, we assume that the 800 and 350 become 100, and the 398 and 170 both become 50.” After five minutes of this, a hand went up. “Could you explain that part again?” asked a woman. “Which part do you mean?” asked the statistician. “The part after ‘Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,’” said the woman.
