“Then God said, ‘Let the earth sprout vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them,’ and it was so.” (Genesis 1:11).

In a book entitled “Stress Fractures,” the author recalls that the great G.K. Chesterton once argued that because we are sinners, when it comes to ultimate joy, God alone is thoroughly childlike in Spirit. Chesterton asks us to consider how God might have created daisies. Did He create them all at once, with one swoop of His mighty hand? Or did He create them one-by-one, experiencing childlike delight in each new flower?…
