“God is God, not of the dead but of the living” (Mt. 22:32).
Harold Kushner, who wrote the best-selling book, “When Bad Things Happen To Good People,” was being interviewed about his newest book, “When Children Ask About God.” “What if my 6 1 by 2-year-old son said to you,” the reporter asked, ’Who is God?’ or ’What is God?’ how would you respond?” The author replied:
I would say “I don’t know What God is. I can only talk to you about experiencing God.” I would say, “Maybe the real question is not ‘Who is God?’ but ‘When is God?’ What has to be happening in our lives to feel God’s Presence?’”
Suppose we were to make a list of all the times when you feel God’s Presence:
when someone is kind to you; when someone forgives you; when someone shares with you;
when you find yourself sharing with someone;
when you’re sick, and you get well;
when you fall…
