Writing in Newsweek magazine, a new physician tells of an experience he had in witnessing an auto accident while he was still in his residency program. He had to think about whether to stop and go back to help. The man was drunk and dying with probable neck injuries. To help him, he must first be moved at the risk of creating further neck injury. Knowing that there could be future legal problems related to his assistance, he chose to save the man’s life.
