NO CORN
A farmer from a rural church was especially proud of his field of corn. In the spring he had prepared the ground, and the soil was perfect. The rain held off so that the seed was planted at exactly the right time. The chemicals did their job and not a weed could be found. The rains came just when they were needed. Now harvest was approaching, and the corn looked great — better than great — it looked perfect! The day came when the few test ears of corn on the edges of the field were deemed dry enough, and the farmer moved into the field with his new John Deere combine. Everything was running smoothly when the farmer realized he did not hear the noise of the corn kernels filling the combine hopper. He stopped the equipment, climbed out of the cab and up the ladder to check the hopper and was stunned. Expected to have a record number of bushels…
