PRAISING THE AZTECS
Officials in San Jose, CA spent half a million dollars in taxpayer’s money to erect a statue of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl in a public park. The mayor justified the expense saying that the Aztec religion promotes “those elements that seek to elevate the human consciousness to a higher plane.” Maybe she hasn’t studied the history of this pagan religion enough to know that its brutal priests made a habit of using knives to rip open the chests of helpless victims in order to remove their still-beating hearts.
