SWALLOWED A HORSE
A man who told his doctor he had swallowed a horse was referred to an associate who was a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist was familiar with this malady and told the man that this problem could easily be fixed. All the man need to do was undergo a simple surgery to remove the horse from his stomach. The man enthusiastically agreed. The psychiatrist and the doctor prepared for their performance. The two doctors arranged to bring a horse into an operating room after the man was put asleep. When the man awoke, he saw the horse, and the doctors triumphantly announced, “The operation was a complete success. We were able to get the horse out.” The man looked at the horse, looked at his stomach, and protested, “I’m sorry, but that’s not the horse I swallowed; the horse I swallowed was white, and this one is brown!” Too much worry, but not enough reality.
