OVERNIGHT EVOLUTION
Evolutionists should be amazed at how fast change can take place for the crucian carp. This crazy little fish can drastically change its size and appearance within five weeks. When the European crucian carp is in the same water as the ferocious pike, the two ounce, six inch long carp grows muscles on its back which prevents the predatory pike from being able to eat the crucian carp. At one time scientists thought this phenomenon was caused by a greater amount of food available to fewer carp. But according to a study by Christer Bronmark of Lund University in Sweden and Jeffery Miner of Miami University in Ohio, food availability was not a factor in the change of size and shape. The only difference was the presence of the pike. The carp reacts to chemicals from the pike and reacts accordingly. These are extremely intelligent carp–or perhaps there is an intelligence beyond them.Adapted from National Geographic, May 1993, commentary by Michael Hodgin
