GOING THE RIGHT WAY
On a recent trip my wife and I found ourselves driving on a stretch of road we had never before traveled. I was confident that I was going in the right direction. After an extended period of time without seeing any highway markers or road signs that indicated the direction and distances to the cities before us, my wife and I both began entertaining doubts about proceeding on our course of travel and were preparing to stop, turn around and head back to where we had started. At that moment, we finally came to a road sign that confirmed that we were indeed traveling in the correct direction. We had been going the right way the entire time, but we had lost the enjoyment of the trip for lack of any encouragement that we were going the right way. And so it is in our spiritual pilgrimages.
