TIME FOR MOM
A newly married couple were establishing their budgets and priorities. One point of disagreement was the frequency and length of long-distance calls that the wife made to her mother. After several discussion over the matter, they agreed that the wife would not make more than one call per week. The very next day after her last call to her mother, the wife picked up the phone and dialed what seemed to the husband like a long-distance number. He asked, “Who are you calling?” “I’m just calling for the time,” she answered. And then, when she finished dialing the number and waited for a moment, she said, “Hi Mother, can you tell me what time it is?”
