SOLOIST NOT NEEDED
An accomplished church choir found itself without an accompanist. The choir director told his pastor of his need for a replacement pianist. The pastor told the choir director of a pianist he had recently heard who played the piano as he had never heard before. The choir director was encouraged and immediately sought out this pianist who had been referred by his pastor. The next week the pastor was talking with his choir director and asked if he had been able to acquire her services. The choir director told the pastor that he had spoken with the pianist and the pianist was interested in the position. She had already come and played for the choir. The choir director agreed that this woman was the best pianist he had ever heard but told the pastor that he had decided against allowing her to accompany the choir.
