GETTING STARTED
In London, England, there stands a statue of St. George seated upon a horse. The horse is stationary, with the forefoot lifted midway up from the ground. The horse is just about to go somewhere, but he hasn’t started yet. You could go there two years from now, and you’ll find him in the very same place. Still, he will look as if he’s just about to start. The birds have even built their nests in his ear. Many, many people are very much like St. George’s statue. They are just about to make things right; they have been planning on getting started back to church, or teaching, or giving. They’re just getting ready to start; but if you go back to them in two years, six years, or ten years, you will find them where you left them — just about to start. Someone has noted that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
