WATCH THE ROAD
Driving east on Interstate 70 toward Denver the driver is still in the mountains but can see Denver. A highway sign reminds truckers that they are not yet out of the mountains. The sign says, Truckers, do not be fooled; you are not out of the mountains yet. Seeing the flat land below gives the false sense of security. It is easy to forget that the next miles are quite steep, and it is easy to lose control. Too much speed, and there is no way to stop. God posts a similar sign along the road of life: “Do not be fooled, you are not out of danger yet.” There are plenty of ways to experience excess and lose control. We can see where we want to go and have every intention of getting there. But we forget to maintain a steady course, we lose control, and we plunge to our own demise. Do not be fooled. God is not mocked.…
