FATHER KNOWS WHAT I CAN CARRY
The winter was harsh and cold. In preparation for the night, which promised to be just as cold if not colder, a father and his young son made their nightly trip through the snow to the woodshed. While the father chopped the wood, a choice neighbor joined them for a bit of small talk and gossip. When the task of splitting the firewood and getting the kindling was finished, the young son cradled his arms and his father began to pile the wood on. It wasn’t long before the boy was bending forward with the weight of his load. The neighbor, meaning well, said: “Sonny, don’t you have about all you can carry?” as the father continued.
