DETERMINATION
A stubborn four-year-old boy provides a good example of the persistence needed in the Christian life. Tommy’s home in Green Forest, Arkansas, was only a block or two from the main street of the little town. One day Tommy decided to go to town all by himself. His father found him, brought him home, and spanked him with a yardstick. A little while later Tommy took off for town again, resulting in another spanking. Tommy left for town again, but took the yardstick with him this time. The strategy didn’t work. He received another spanking. All of us should live the Christian life with the same determination a well-spanked four year old demonstrated.
