PRAYING FOR THINGS OR GOD?
I remember one day in Tibet, when I was in prison. The stones of that prison were like flowers. There was nothing in these stones, but His presence changed them, it was like Heaven. The real Heaven. I cannot explain. This spiritual peace cannot be expressed in the language of this world. We must pray for the realization of His presence, and when we feel it, it will make a Heaven on earth. I was in that place, iron railing round me, in a small room with no food, no water; it was difficult, but I would rather have it than those days at home, in that luxurious home, which was hell for me. In that prison it was a mistake to pray “God, give me this or that” but “give Thyself, here is my life.” I did not pray for things, but for Him, the giver of things.
