TOUCHING SENSITIVE SPOTS
A man who played golf in a foursome with President Eisenhower at the Cherry Hills Club in Denver shanked an approach shot. To his horror, the errant pellet flew toward the President and hit him in the right rear pocket. The mortified player raced toward the Chief Executive, all apologies. “Mr. President,” he exclaimed, “I hope you aren’t hurt.” “I carry my wallet back there,” said Ike, as he gingerly rubbed the place where the ball had hit. “This is the first time I’ve been touched there without being hurt.” Maurie Luxford, quoted by Art Rosenbaum, San Francisco Chronicle
