WHO’S BLAMED?
A professional football coach was hired to manage the team. They had been experiencing a bad season. Like all football teams, if they don’t win the coach is replaced. To succeed in football you must win. The new coach was given two sealed envelopes when he accepted the coaching position. He was told that when he got into difficulty the next season he should open the first sealed envelope. It was a note of encouragement from the former coach telling him that he should “blame everything on him.” Put out the information that the present failures of the team were because of the former coach. If the disappointment of the season persists, he was to open the second sealed letter. This he did. The terse note merely read: “Prepare two envelopes!”
