WHEN THINGS DON’T SEEM TO WORK
Jeremiah teaches that life isn’t all beer and skittles. There are also the tough times when things don’t flow as neatly as a seminar notebook would imply. Jeremiah crys out against the burden of too much bad news he has to deliver. In the book about Bob Pierce I mentioned earlier, we learn that Bob went through times when he was angry and hurt with God. He felt he had made a deal with God. He would go and care for the hurting and starving of the world, and God would take care of his family at home in California. And then his daughter, Sharon, took her own life.
