The cover story on Warren Buffet of Omaha, Nebraska that appeared in the April 11th issue of Fortune magazine, tells the amazing tale of one of our countries most successful billionaires. He has been an enormous success in investing in all kinds of companies as he has built up the conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway. He has been called the Wizard of Omaha and he looks for strong companies that are so well positioned in the market. He is famous for taking over companies and then leaving the management in place, rather than replacing them, as do so many corporate chairmen. One of the companies he owns is Nebraska Furniture Mart which was founded by Rose Blumpkin. He keeps in touch with the local managers in many different ways, usually informal, such as through the phone, or by means of periodic meetings over a meal.
