27 PRAYERS
A missionary and his helpers were forced to camp on a hill. They carried money and were fearful of an attack. After prayer, they went to sleep. Months later, a brigand chief was brought to the mission hospital. He asked the missionaries if he had soldiers who guarded him on that special night. “We intended to rob you” he said, “but were afraid of the 27 soldiers.” When the story was told in the homeland, someone said, “We had a prayer meeting that night, and there were 27 of us present.” From Gospel Tract Harvester, January 1989
