THE DANGER OF COMPLACENCY
On February 25, 1991 a SCUD missile hit an American Army barracks in Saudi Arabia, killing 28 and wounding 90. Was the Iraqi technology so good that they could pinpoint the place of impact so precisely? No. In fact, the SCUD missile broke apart upon reentering the atmosphere, the warhead randomly fell to its deadly destination. Yet the barracks were hit while it was full of soldiers eating their dinner. They had ignored the air raid warnings, having become complacent with the success of the Patriot anti-missle technology. Ephesians tells us that Satan is constantly sending us his fiery darts. Yet all too often Christians become complacent against the attacks of Satan – and that is when he is most deadly.
