THE MEN OF THE HOUSE
A man was cleaning house while his wife was in town shopping. Decked out in an apron, while vacuuming, he heard the doorbell ring. Leaving the vacuum running he went to the door to meet a burly man wearing a battered cowboy hat pulled low over his eyes with well worn boots. “I was just cleaning the house for my wife,” the man offered in a weak apologetic voice. Looking relieved, the burly man replied, “I understand completely, I’m delivering Avon.” Adapted from the Adventist Review, from Don Shelby, United Methodist Church, Santa Monica
