Carl Sandburg wrote in his prologue to The Family of Man: The first cry of a newborn baby in Chicago or Zimbonago, in Amsterdam or Rangoon, has the same pitch and key, each saying, “I am! I have come through! I Belong! I am a member of God’s family! Persons are persons; they are of inestimable worth even when they doubt it about themselves or deny it to others.
