SMALLER DOLLS
David Ogilvy of the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather would give each of his new managers a Russian doll. Each doll held a progressively smaller dolls. A note inside the smallest doll said, “If each of us hires people who are smaller than we are, we shall become a company of dwarfs. But if each of us hires people who are bigger than we are, Ogilvy and Mather will become a company of giants.” As quoted in The New Dynamics of Winning: Gain the Mind-set of a Champion for Unlimited Success in Business and Life, reprinted by Homiletics Magazine, 1995
