HOW YOU SAY IT
The story is told of an immigrant who came to America from Europe. He intended for his wife and children to join him as soon as he was settled and had a job. Although he began to be successful, he neglected to send for his family. Then one day he received a letter. Since he had never learned to read, he showed it to a man in the shop and asked him what it said. In a rough, bellowing voice his friend read, “Why haven’t you sent for me? I need some money. Signed, Minnie.” The husband was angry and snatched the note from his hand. A little later he pulled it out of his pocket and enlisted the help of another man. In a soft, loving voice he read, “Why haven’t you sent for me? I need some money. Signed, Minnie.” The immigrant smiled understandingly. “Anyway,” he remarked, “I’m glad she’s changed her tone.” Source Unknown
