THIN LAYER OF SILVER
The man was selfish and greedy, and his pastor did not seem to know how to convince him of the error of his ways. The pastor then had an idea. He led the man to a window and asked the man what he saw. The man described the many activities and people in the busy street below. The pastor then led the man to the mirror and asked him what he saw. The man said that he saw himself. The pastor made his point. When the man looked through the clear glass of the window, he saw others; when he looked through the glass of the mirror, he saw himself. What was the difference? With just a thin layer of silver, we no longer see others, but we only see ourselves. Adapted from a submission by George Maronge, Jr., Deerfoot Bible Church, Pinson, Alabama
