It took 40 years of man to make Moses a somebody (Egypt). It took 40 years for God to make Moses a nobody (the desert). He who says “I’m a self-made man” simply demonstrates the horror of unskilled labor. Christ’s perfect life was the perfect manifestation of human life as God intended it.
