VIEWS OF GOD
The Christian Faith: Teaches that God is the “pivot point” of life. That God is the ultimate reality. That there are some absolutes… some unchanging truths that apply equally to all. Secular Humanism: Teaches that Man is the “pivot point” of life. That man himself is the ultimate reality. That everything is relative. Changing values and ethics determined by your needs, opinions or circumstances. Religious Humanism: Acknowledges God but promotes a convenient theology. The doctrinal absolutes are blurred, giving rise to self centered thinking, a lack of clear convictions and a failure to live a life of holiness before God. Sacrifice is repulsive. Obedience to all authority is resisted. Christian standards are minimal. Absolute merely given lip service or ignored altogether. Sexual impurity is barely tolerated. Materialism and greed is widespread. Personal happiness is the goal. Eternity has become a “bonus” instead of the goal.
