Blessing | Grace | Praise | Prayer | Thanks | Thanksgiving

DEFINING THANKSGIVING
…along with praise, comes thanksgiving. sometimes in the Scriptures, thanksgiving is used interchangeably with praise. When it is used distinctively, praise usually focuses on expressing homage, admiration, and approval of God’s character and works. Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is acknowledging a divine favor. You praise God whether He blesses you or not, because He is deserving of praise. But you thank God when He specifically relates to you in a personal way. From Finding Time, A Christian Approach to Life Management, by Rick Yohn, published by Word, Dallas, 1984, pgs. 251 & 252
