Bondage | Freedom | Trap

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me … He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives” (Lk. 4:8).

A man who conducted a seminar on how to make money (“The Million Dollar Forum”) was relaxing in an out-of-the-way little inn hidden among pine trees. “It was just past noon,” he said, “late July, and I was listening to the desperate struggle going on four feet away” . . .

There was a small fly burning out the last of its short life’s energies in a futile attempt to fly through the glass of a windowpane. The fluttering wings tell the poignant story of the fly’s strategy: Try harder! But it wasn’t working. The frenzied efforts offered no hope for liberation. Ironically, the fly was trapped by its struggle to be free. The fly was doomed. It would die on the windowsill.
