PRAYER IN KIND
It was the Christmas season and a meeting was held in a small church for the announced purpose of praying for a local family that was having a tough time of it. The family was large and they didn’t have enough food or enough money to keep the place properly heated. As the people of the church prayed there was some noise at the door of the church. They looked up and the young son of one of the elders had come in and shut the door with a bit of clumsiness and noise. As all the people were staring at him he said, “My dad couldn’t make it tonight to the prayer meeting so he sent his prayers in my wagon. Could you help me bring them in?” His prayers consisted of a sack of potatoes, a quarter of beef, several bags of vegetables, flour, apples and other assorted staples.
