AMERICAN INEFFECTIVENESS
Time magazine dealt with the decline of the United States in a cover story a while back. The piece was entitled, “America the Inefficient, or Why Nothing Seems to Work Anymore in the United States.” The article then gave illustration after illustration of no-count products, poor workmanship, and warranties that weren’t worth the paper they were written on. The author then went on to note that “for many years America was noted around the world for its efficiency and the quality of its products and its honesty, and the fact that men prided themselves in what they had made. But in the last several years that has changed. There’s a feeling all over the world now that our country has lost this characteristic. There have been complaints coming from everywhere that we cannot be trusted. We are coming to be known as ‘America the Inefficient and Deceptive.'”
