THREE LAMENTS
Employee’s Lament: I’m working too hard. I’m not paid enough. I’m smarter than my boss. I work harder than the other employees. They’re ripping me off and taking advantage of me. They’re fortunate to have me here Manager’s Lament: My employees are clueless, lazy goof-offs. Their work is poor and their attitudes stink. They think the world owes them living. Top management’s expectations are ridiculous. They’re all ripping me off and taking advantage of me. They’re fortunate I’m here. Business Owner’s Lament: The customers want me to give it away. The government requires way too much paperwork. The subcontractors are unreliable. Managers can’t manage and the workers don’t work. They’re all ripping me off and taking advantage of me. They’re fortunate that I keep them around.
