I WANT MY MONEY BACK
At the conclusion of a recent mid-week service in which a special mission emphasis program had been presented by our Women’s Missionary Union, the Mission Friends were brought into the service to participate in a special Annie Armstrong offering. As the father of a two-year-old, I beamed as I watched my son march in with the other Mission Friends with his offering envelope in his hands. As the offering plate was passed, my son proudly placed his envelope in the plate. I was still delighting in his mature behavior as I pronounced the benediction. However, at the conclusion of the benediction, he blurted out, “Daddy, I want my money back!” From A Funny Thing Happened…, March, 1990, by Eddie Ramsey, West Pelzer Baptist Church, Pelzer, South Carolina
