FORBIDDEN WORD
The denominational headquarters were making some video tapes for use as a resource in local churches. The theme of the series was stewardship. Attempting to approach the theme with a humorous twist, this series was entitled HELLO DOLLAR! In the introduction, the narrator made this comment: “Have you heard about the minister who used the FORBIDDEN WORD?” There was a pause and the question was repeated even more emphatically: “Have you heard about the minister who used the FORBIDDEN WORD?” The camera then zoomed in for a close-up of the minister standing behind the pulpit. Very slowly and with great articulation, he said, “MONEY.” With that, the trap door opened, and he disappeared from sight.
