INDIVIDUAL INTERCESSION
An outstanding example of spiritual concern in more recent times was the late Dr. Andrew Bonar. After his death, his daughter led a Welsh evangelist into her father’s church in Glasgow, Scotland. She pointed out a pew in the rear where as a small girl her father had seated her one day as he went into the empty church. After a long wait she stood up to look for her father. He was seated in a pew, his head bent forward. Soon he moved to another pew, then another, and another. Sometimes she would see him carefully examine the nameplates to find the pews he desired. When she grew older, she understood what her father had been doing on that day — praying for his parishioners in the very spot where each worshipped.
