MATERNAL RIGHTS
During the American Revolution, an officer was sent around the Virginia country side to confiscate horses for military use. He came to a fine old mansion, rang the bell, and asked to speak to the mistress. “Madame,” he said to the dignified elderly lady he met in the parlor, “I am claiming your horses on orders from my commander.” “Sir,” she answered, “you cannot have my horses. I need them for the spring plowing. Who is your commander.” “General George Washington, Commander of the American Army.” “You go back and tell General George Washington that his mother says he cannot have her horses,” she replied with a smile. Don’t you wonder what the General thought… Mom said “NO!” Maybe more parents should also learn how to speak and use this magic word in today’s world! Source unknown
