FINDING PHILLIP
When Phillip was eight, he, his brother, John and sister Lauren, and all their cousins were in St. Louis on vacation. While downtown visiting all the sites, they went to the St. Louis Cathedral. After taking the tour, his mother started counting heads and noticed that Phillip was missing. That always spells trouble. She started looking and found him — of all places, at the altar. He was kneeling and very obviously in prayer with his Cardinal baseball cap on the cushion next to him. His mother watched with tears in her eyes. She leaned over and gently touched him on the shoulder and said, “Phillip, I’m sorry to interrupt, but we have to go.” Phillip looked up and said, “You know, it’s been a long time since I prayed. Thanks for waiting.”
