A little five-year-old boy ran to answer the telephone when it rang. His mother was busy taking care of his baby brother so the little boy decided he would answer while she was busy. The voice on the other end said that it was Mr. Jones calling. “I’m sorry, the little boy said, but there is no one here right now. May I take a message?” Mr. Jones heard the phone drop, and then the little voice said, “O.K., I’m ready now.” Who did you say is calling?”
“Mr. Jones.”
“How do you spell Jones?”
“J–O–N–E–S.”
After a long pause the little boy asked,
“How do you make a J?”
