Eric Marshall and Stuart Hample have compiled a brand new collection of “Children’s Letters to God.” It could be argued that not since the publication of the last volume of letters in 1967 has there been assembled such a poignant record of children’s basic beliefs and questions about God. The following are a few examples from this new collection:

Is Reverend Coe a friend of yours, or do
you just know him through the business?
