DADDY GOT TWO SHOTS
The cold and flu season had come to our church and I was talking to one of the first graders after she and her father had missed a Sunday. I asked her if she was feeling better and she replied, with a proud voice, “Yes, I’m all better now – but Daddy and I had to go to the doctor.” Sensing there was more to the story I asked, “And what did you think about visiting the doctor?” She answered with a small, sad voice, “I did not like it very much – I had to get a shot, and it hurt.” But, before I could begin to comfort her, she suddenly looked up with a great big, beaming smile and said, “Yep, I had to get a shot – but my daddy had to get two and that made me feel lots better!”
