There is something about the Christmas time,
Something in the spirit of it
That sweeps it clean of the dust of other days
And hallows it./Something that proves the depths of the human soul,
Something in the beauty of it
That urges one on to a higher goal,
To a life more worthy of it.
There’s something about the Christmas time.
Something in the spirit of it
That defies the power of prose or rhyme
To fathom it.
Something that breathes of the time when discord shall cease,
Something in the spirit of it,
When men shall hear and head the call
To the gracious gift of God,
Of peace, peace on earth,
Good will to all.
