THE TEST
Keith Miller tells the story about a bishop somewhere in Europe and a young nun who claimed to have had a vision of Jesus. As was the custom when someone claimed such a vision, she was called before the bishop and he interviewed her. “Sister, did you talk to Him?” he asked. “Yes, I did.” After talking further, he pointed to himself and said, “All right, if you ever have another vision of our Lord, would you ask Him this question: ‘What was the bishop’s primary sin before he became a bishop?'” (Only God and his confessor would know.) “I’d like for you to tell me His reply.” He wanted to see if she had had a real encounter with Jesus. About three months later, the nun made an appointment with the bishop.
